Every now and then I begin to daydream about laying on pristine white sands as the ocean gently laps at my feet and the sun beats down. I could be wrong, but I don’t think I’m alone in this. There’s no better feeling than when you turn on your out of office, smugly bid au revoir to your colleagues and realise you’re officially ‘on holiday’. For me, there’s something extra exciting when I’m heading to a destination where I can lie on the beach, interrupted only by the arrival of my Strawberry Daiquiri. There’s lots of spectacular beaches around the world, and below we’ve listed a few that right now are at the top of our bucket list.

Zanzibar

Zanzibar is an archipelago, located in the Indian Ocean just off the coast of Tanzania. With beautiful sandy beaches and a rich marine life, the coral reefs make Zanzibar the perfect destination for those wanting a snorkelling or scuba diving trip.

Zuri Zanzibar

With only 55 units ranging from bungalows, suites and villas, each guest has their own private space. Zuri is the only property on the island which has a non-tidal beach allowing guests to swim all day as well as being within walking distance to local bars and restaurants. The hotel has a culinary edge with live cooking sessions, a spice garden and gardeners library.

Set in a protected marine conservation area, it’s the perfect spot for those who want to swim, snorkel and dive in premier sites. The 10 casinhas, 2 cabanas and 1 Casa Familia combine tropical chic with Africa flair and Portuguese heritage. This eclectic mix create an unusual style which work together to create a welcoming and homely feel.
