Slovenia: Mountains, Valleys and Vineyards

Your Escape

Your Escape

Slovenia brings together alpine landscapes, rivers, and wine country in a way that feels far more varied than its size suggests.

This bespoke Slovenia itinerary moves from the Julian Alps through the Soča Valley and into the country’s wine regions, finishing in Ljubljana. Over the course of a week, it covers lakes, mountain passes, and vineyard-covered hills, with each part sitting within relatively easy reach of the next.

Begin beside Lake Bohinj, set within Triglav National Park, where time is spent exploring gorges, mountain viewpoints, and the surrounding alpine landscape. Continue to Lake Bled before crossing the Vršič Pass, one of the most scenic drives in the region, into the Soča Valley, known for its striking emerald river and outdoor experiences.

From here, the journey shifts south into Slovenia’s wine country, where vineyards and hilltop villages replace the mountains. Time is spent exploring the region by e-bike, with private tastings and long lunches overlooking the landscape.

The itinerary finishes in Ljubljana, a compact capital that combines architecture, food, and local culture in a way that is easy to explore without needing to over-plan.
